1972 – Pioneering Innovation: Ron’s father invents the world’s first electric ski                        waxer, earning patents in the USA and Canada.
1984 – Ron Kuus Retires from Racing: After competing in the European Cup                            Circuit, PWA Pro Tour, USA Pro Tour, and University Circuit, Ron leaves his                racing career behind.
1985 – The Beginning of KUU: From his basement, Ron starts selling four                                  products: the patented electric ski waxer, waxes, and the Ice Buster                              sharpener. Neighbors wonder why so many 18-wheelers are backing into                  his driveway.
1986 – KUU Incorporated: The company is officially founded and begins
              expanding. The first trade shows are attended.
1988 – Speed Record: Ron reaches a speed of 106 mph at the North
              American Speed Skiing Championships using KUU wax.
1989 – Expanding the Business: Ron convinces his fiancée, Heidi, to
             leave the corporate world, join KUU, and become a partner — without                         mentioning she won’t get a paycheck.
1990 – New Facility & Continued Expansion: The company moves into a
             larger facility to accommodate its growth.
1990 – Snowboard Innovation: KUU becomes the first company in the
              world to launch a full wood-core cap snowboard, setting a design
              standard later followed by other brands.
1991 – Long-Term Sponsorships: KUU starts supporting the Austrian
            National Team and the Canadian Ski & Snowboard Teams
            — partnerships that continue for over 40 years.
1992 – Advanced Wax Technology: KUU introduces MACH Wax, known
              for its broad temperature range, unmatched speed, durability,
             and ease of use.
1992 – Market Leadership: KUU is the first to introduce specific
              snowboard wax, recognizing emerging trends and driving
              innovation.
